Above & Beyond

Over the summer, our summer interns worked hard on creating projects addressing different marine-related topics, researching and then creating presentations and posters on the information they found. Explore videos of their presentations below!

Athena Abrahamsen

Athena Abrahamsen 2022 Internship Presentation

Athena Abrahamsen (Ocean Acidification Awareness and Messaging), an oceanography student, worked with the Education team to build on the ocean acidification work of the 2021 MSI intern. She conducted a literature search and synthesized
information on message and content delivery for conservation messages. Then using that information as well as the 2021 evaluation data, she created ocean acidification messages, including a behavior ask, and evaluated the messages with guests. She created an interpretive plan with recommended program formats, messages, and sufficient background information/context for education staff to offer a program.
